Attached is the City of Santa Cruz Service and Emotional Support Animals and Pet Policy.  It was created in HR in 2022.

I heard the issue at the mtg was a question asked about dogs in the workplace so this isn't on point to that but is more general help about animal accommodation laws. Note: Oct 25 is the CLE. 

Our issues in Salinas have been about formerly unhoused individuals who are now residents in our City-sponsored housing units. We have a claim and an investigation by State Civil Rights Department in response to individual who wasn't allowed to keep her 2 (or 3?) pit bulls. And many other issues with Code Enforcement responding to complaints of various animals being considered emotional support animals.

Thank you for that service animal policy, Mark. We've recently had several issues with emotional support animals. There's also a CLE that was just advertised on this topic. If I see the link I will email to the group if anyone is interested. Most CLEs are just learning opportunities open to registration by anyone, including amazing risk managers.
